  • Condition: Up for auction is a vintage tapestry / petit point art deco powder compact w brass edged filligree. Lid is round & has a floral bouquet motif in the compact center. You can look closely and see stitching. Lid is edged in brass. The base is a green colored plastic. I don’t believe it is bakelite. What is interesting is the underside instead of being flat, has a point in the center—so it does not sit flat. See photo 2. Condition of the lid and base is good considering its age. The underside has a little wear and a few fleabites on the edge near the clasp. Lid opens with a slight tug. Interior mirror is glass with a few age spots and a little wear around the edging. Puff has been used and is more of a lamb wool than an actual store purchased puff—I am showing both sides. There is no signature on who made this compact. When the puff is removed, you can still see remnants of a powder sifter which is torn from age. See description for additional information and photos.
