    Description

    Up for sale is this vintage Necco Candies jar from what I believe to be the 1920's or 1930's.  The art deco styling of the bottle is very striking.   It stands about 10 inches tall and is about 6 inches wide.   The bottom of the jar has the number 5853 in raised relief - I do not recognize this number, nor can I attribute it to any glass maker.   There are no nicks, chips or cracks in this piece and overall it is in very nice clean condition.  The tin cover has some tarnish and I believe the top was partially exposed to the sun for long periods and has become somewhat faded in an inconsistent manner - see photos.   However, I do believe the lid is original to the jar.
