Description

This is a Vintage Art Deco Inlaid Revolving Wood Poker Chip Rack Bakelite Handle & 191 Poker Chips.
At the time of the original listing, this was one of six listings for poker chips, chip sets, and racks, all purchased from a long time collector who was downsizing and selling some of his collection.  Additionally we have a number of other poker chip listings including other sets with racks in our ebay store.
The chips are an older plastic.  They interlock edges and plain centers.  The chips are 1 1/2" in diameter.  Each weighs a bit under 5 grams, (as  you can see from a stack of ten our jewelry scale).
The rack appears to have originally been designed for 200 chips (100 white, and 50 each in red and blue).  As found there only 196.  It also appears that a number of chips are from several similar, but different sets.  You can see a lot of variation in the color, thickness, and slight diameter differences in the white chips when viewed on edge.  There are also a few blue chips with significant color variation as seen in the photo of chips on the scale.
The number of chips present of each color are:
Cream / White 110
Blue 44
Red 37
The rack is made from wood.  It is about 7 1/2" in diameter.  It has a band of Art Deco marquetry around the circumference as seen, and a very nice butterscotch bakelite handle.  There are well for two decks of cards.  The rack revolves fairly smooth in lazy susan fashion, but it does not have ball bearings.
The rack has a well across the back for a card deck with two semi-circular wells to allow you grip and remove the cards with two fingers.   If you are looking at the rack when the companion listing was still available and / or viewable, you will see that the other rack much more contrast in the marbleized colors than this one.  This rack has a darker overall appearance and the marbleized effect, seen with the photo flash, is not nearly as apparent in ambient room light.
Condition
Chips
Many white chips have significant differences, and a few blue chips have quite different color as apready noted above.  There is also quite a bit of discoloration / color variation on many of the white / cream chips.
The wooden rack quite a bit of scuffing and wear on the finish as seen.  There is also a fairly deep scrap on the left side of one of the wells of white chips that can be clearly seen.  Please review the photos and make your own assessment of the condtiono as well.
The chips and rack are offered as seen / as found / as described.
