    Description

This is a gold plated black ink ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil set from Caran d'Ache, made in Switzerland. It's in the original case with the insert. This set was given to my father when he retired from a Swiss owned engineering firm in 1993. He put it away and it has never been used. I've tried to so some research about it and believe it's an Ecridor because of its hexagonal form. I don't know the name of the engraved design on the six sides. It may be the Cubrik motif. These instruments are referred to as having the perfect weight with perfect balance and were compared to a fine Swiss watch in detail and precision. Around the circumference of the push buttons at the top is engraved, " Caran d'Ache.G.
    Swiss gold plated" followed by
with a little box with CdA inside. There are also two words written under the clips but I can't make it out very well. I think one word is "metal."
This set would make a fabulous graduation gift for someone who appreciates the best. Mailed Priority Mail with insurance.
This is quoted from the Caran d'Ache Ecridor website:
"Ecridor®, one of the great classics from the Maison Caran d'Ache, is synonymous with the elegance, robustness and reliability that are the very watchwords of the Swiss quality label. Its instantly recognizable hexagonal body has earned it the status of a modern icon.
The slim, architectural style of the Ecridor® collection is reminiscent of the Art Deco period that was the source of Caran d'Ache's initial big successes, imprinting the hexagonal shape in its very genes – as expressed in the bodies of the pencils and particularly the legendary Fixpencil. Since its very beginnings, the Ecridor with its six metal faces became an iconic model for the Maison Caran d'Ache and would tirelessly perpetuate its unique style.
