    Description

    MARATHON KLIX COMPACT ~ RED LUCITE TABS ~ ORIGINAL BOX ~ LITTLE USED
    The sifter and puff in the powder compartment are unused & clean.  The  rouge is still foil covered and has a small tear in the foil resulting with a light coloring of a small portion of the puff there.  The mirror has light film.  The sides are red, thought to be Lucite.   The Klix opener is cranky and takes the right touch.  Seems to work best if you are pressing 3 (each side) of the bottom tabs and if the hinge side is pointed DOWN toward the floor so it doesn't have to work to flip up; when you get it right it flops right open with  no hesitation.  The top is enameled in black and white with a center of gold tone.  The diamond shape in the very center has a silvery mark about matchhead size, which looks like it might be solder.  The bottom is black enamel.  The gold tone and enamel are in excellent condition.  The box, brown top, and gold tone bottom with beige velvet  show tiny wear on the cardboard.  The interior of the bottom box has a cartouche declaring Marathon.  The lid reads Klix-by Marathon.  Will be shipped in an open state so that you KNOW it opens, cause it is frustrating until you get the hang of it.  Size of the compact is 2 3/4 inch x 2 3/4 inch by 1/4 inch.  Circa 1940=/-.
