  • Condition: Refurbished, with new 6 ft 3-wire power cord and 6-ft 16-2 SJOOW audio cable.Bench tested for receive audio, distortion, and transmit level.Volume control and 'TALK' switch replaced where necessary, new weather seals on both.I have been repairing-refurbishing these units since 1980...you can buy with confidence that they are as close to 'factory-new' as it is possible to make them.The 'Series 3' units utilize printed circuit board construction as opposed to the point-to-point wiring in 'Series 1' units. Are they better ? A bit, but they are more prone to internal damage in a heavy-vibration location due to inadequate support of the heat sink for the output transistors.

    The '-4' is an 'Extreme Temperature Environment' unit, -50F to +150F
    These are also 'Series B'....the only difference I have been able to see is that they use the Analog Devices SSM-2139 op-amps where the Series C units use an OP-275GPZ.
    The SSM-op amps are very hard to find..on one of these units I have replaced the SSM's with OP's.  It made no difference that I can see or hear.
    This unit and others that I have offered can be combined into a system by supplying a 2-wire audio cable between the locations.
